Getting Started with FBA
To be considered for Admission, FBA requires the following:
- The parent is in support of First Baptist Academy’s mission and philosophy as a Christian school;
- Profession of Faith from at least one family member;
- Letter of support from a church Pastor if not a member of FBCO;
- Proficiency at the 50th percentile or higher in Reading and Math on standardized testing be on or above grade level;
- Students with an IEP, 504, or other accommodation plan must meet the admission requirements, and understand admission may not be offered if it is determined that First Baptist Academy is unable to meet the academic, emotional, medical, or behavioral needs of the student;
- The student should have a clean discipline history with no suspensions, expulsions, or history of behavioral issues;
- The student should read, write, and speak fluent English;
- For students entering Kindergarten, the student must be 5 years old by September 1 of the school year.
2026-2027 Admission Dates
Application Dates
Early Registration
December 1st, 2026 | Applications for admission open for First Baptist Opelika members, current Bright Beginnings families, and current First Baptist Academy Students.
- Returning families must register each year.
- During early registration, the registration fee of $30 is waived.
Regular Registration
January 6th, 2027 | Applications for admission open to the public.
- Registration fee of $30 is required.
- Before any child is “enrolled”, the $210 Enrollment Fee must be paid (this is the Activity Fee which pays for their school supplies, field trips, field trip t-shirts, etc)
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into FBA.
Decision Dates
Screenings & enrollment decisions will take place February through March.
- Any new student to FBA must complete a screening for the grade they will be entering.
Late Registration, screenings, & enrollment will continue February through May.
All registration forms, screenings, & enrollment fees should be completed no later than May 31st, 2027. Later registration may take place but tuition agreements/payments begin in July.
